Care Instruction for our Thera-Fleece™ Australian
Thera-Fleece™ sheepskin is machine washable in
cold water on gentle cycle, but you will discover that
your item does not need to be washed very often. Quality
natural sheepskin reacts much like your horse’s
coat, in that dirt and grime can easily be brushed out
After use, let your item dry. Once dry, dirt and sweat
marks are easily removed with a curry and a stiff body
brush. A wire dog grooming brush also works very well
to clean the fleece and restore loft. With regular brushing,
your item can be kept usable for weeks between washings.
Use a waterless spray-on horse shampoo to spot clean
if needed. This is especially helpful at shows.

Leather Therapy’s leather wash and conditioning
products. After extensive tests, these were the best
products we found to clean the fleece and condition
the leather. You can also use Woolite or shampoo, basically
anything you would use on your fine woolens or your
own/your horse’s hair.
out all excess water and dry flat in shade. Even though
the pad does not shrink, leather has a way to constrict

Please avoid exposure to full sunlight or direct heat
sources, as this will dry out and stiffen the leather.
For now, we recommend that you do not put your Fleeceworks™
item into the dryer, but we are experimenting with appropriate
dryer settings/time to help the air drying process along
by getting some of the moisture out once the sheepskin
comes out of the washing machine. We will keep you updated
on our findings.

not perform or hold up as expected, please give us the
